Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria for a Frenulotomy

At the Gentle Latch, I currently only see babies under 4 months old. This may change in the future. If your baby is older, please message me and I may be able to help by pointing you in the right direction regarding who to contact.


Sometimes when a baby's tongue tie is diagnosed, it cannot always be divided due to the presence of a cyst on the frenulum or due to certain medical conditions (such as bleeding conditions in the mother). These cases will be individually discussed and a plan will be put in place.


Your baby must have had either an oral or intramuscular injection of Vitamin K at birth. If they have not, a waiver must be signed due to the increased risk of bleeding
