Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria for a Frenulotomy
At the Gentle Latch, I currently only see babies under 4 months old. This may change in the future. If your baby is older, please message me and I may be able to help by pointing you in the right direction regarding who to contact. Sometimes when a baby's tongue tie is diagnosed, it cannot always be divided due to the presence of a cyst on the frenulum or due to certain medical conditions (such as bleeding conditions in the mother). What to Expect at Your Baby’s Frenulotomy Appointment
You will be welcomed into one of our comfortable clinic rooms where a full history will be taken, including a relevant medical history and family history, a full feeding history (breast and bottle) including any problems and any relevant birth details. An oral assessment of your baby's tongue will take place. This is very gentle, using a gloved finger to check the function and appearance of your baby's tongue.
